Playskool® Announces Voluntary Recall of Teethe'n Toy
LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC, February 9, 2000 - Playskool has advised Health Canada of a voluntary recall of approximately 3,000 units of the Teethe'n Toy sold at various retail outlets throughout Canada. A portion of the teether may break apart causing small pieces of material to come loose, posing a choking hazard to younger children.
In Canada, Playskool has received four complaints, with no reported injuries.
The Teethe'n Toy, product number #3176, is age graded for children 6 months old and up. It is a soft flexible ring, with three ice-cream cone shaped teethers hanging from the ring.
Merchandise outlets nationwide have sold Playskool's Teethe'n Toy from 1998 until February 9, 2000 for approximately $3.00.
Parents and caregivers should immediately remove the Teethe'n Toy from young children and contact Playskool to return the product in order to obtain a refund. This recall does not affect teethers sold in the United States. For more information call Playskool at 1-800-752-9755, or or fill out this form, or write to Playskool at P.O.
